The #Kwara State House of Assembly on Saturday announced the death of one of its legislators and Chairman, House Committee on Public Petition, Alhaji Haliru ldris.
A statement signed by the Special Assistant to the Speaker on Media Affairs, Alhaji AbdulRahman Sanni, indicated that the legislator died in the early hours of Saturday in llorin, at the age of 48.
The statement said that late Idris, representing Kaiama Constituency, is survived by his aged father, Sen Haliru Idris, wives and children.
It said the legislator had been buried in accordance with Islamic injunctions, at the Muslim Cemetery in Ilorin.
In his remarks while on a condolence visit, Speaker of the House, Hon.Rasak Atunwa, described the deceased as “a humble, articulate, generous and committed legislator”, who devoted his time to the service of God and humanity.
Atunwa urged the family to take solace in the fact that the deceased lived a useful and fulfilled life.
