The firm trains computer programmers and developers for four months and then outsource them to work remotely on projects in other countries in a four-year program.

One of the beneficiaries, Komolafe, 25, a Computer Science graduate who was unemployed for two years before joining Andela now works remotely for U.S. firms from Andela's office.

"I was scared. I thought I wasn't going to be able to get a job because I thought that only happened to people whose parents knew someone influential," said Komolafe, reflecting on her two year of being jobless before joining Andela.
