Mr. Adekunle Awe, Divisional Police Officer in charge of Onikan Station, in Lagos state has been arrested for alleged rape and threat to life. Two other unnamed officers were also arrested along with him.
Awe is being accused of rape by a 31-year-old cook, Idowu Akinwunmi.
The DPO and the inspectors are currently being detained at the Special Investigation Bureau at the command headquarters.
Ngozi Braide, Police Public Relations Officer for Lagos state has confirmed the arrest. She said,"No stone will be left unturned during investigation".
