A police officer on Tuesday, November 11th, was on highway patrol duty between Ibadan and Lagos, where he reportedly shot a commercial bus driver over a dispute over N50.

The driver, Umaru Bayi, was driving his bus (with passengers on-board) from Ibadan to Lagos when he was stopped by the policeman who demanded a N50 bribe.

Bayi, however, had only N1,000 notes, which he gave the police officer and asked for change. This angered the policeman who asked Bayi to get out of the bus. He shot Bayi in the pelvis and fled.

Bayi is said to be in critical condition at a hospital.
