Senate President David Mark yesterday said late Emir of Kano Alhaji Ado Bayero once rejected financial inducement from a former head of state.
Speaking during debate on a motion over the demise of the late monarch, Mark said he was a forthright man who lived for the common good of his people and Nigeria at large.
Mark said Bayero was totally against Boko Haram and had discussed that with him personally on many occasions. Senator Mark who didn’t name the said former head of state, said the ex- Nigeria leader gave Bayero a cheque and thereafter came back to ask him to do something that was against the people.
