CBN’s Deputy Governor, Tunde Lemo has said that his leaving the office will not affect his chances of succeeding Lamido Sanusi as governor.

The 54-yr old Lemo left the bank today after serving the maximum ten years – that’s two five-year terms. Sanusi has however said that he would not be renewing his contract when it expires in June.

Although the president, Goodluck Jonathan hasn’t hinted at who the next governor is, Lagos-based Vetiva Capital Management said in its October 28th report that strong candidates include Lemo and the other three deputies.
