ABUJA: The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Mohammed Abubakar, yesterday commended the judiciary for the life jail term with hard labour sentence passed on Mustapha Umar, the bomber of Thisday Newspaper House in Abuja by an Abuja Federal High Court, describing the judgment as a remarkable victory against terrorism in Nigeria.
Abubakar while reacting to the judgment, hailed the court headed by Hon. Justice Adetokunbo Adeniyi Ademola for setting an uncommon precedence and for being dispassionate and commendably courageous in delivering the judgment which he noted will serve as a strong deterrent to such condemnable crime.
