Minister of Information, Mr. Labaran Maku yesterday transferred aggression on the Nigerian media over the gruesome killings in the country by the Boko Haram sect, alleging that the generous media coverage accorded the insurgents had been responsible for th escalating rate of their activities.
Maku who stated this while briefing Journalists after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting said the copious attention being given to the exploits of the sect in parts of the country was all they needed to unleash terror on innocent citizens.
According to the minister who was responding to questions from State House correspondents, terror groups all over the world thrive most where they get maximum media reportage of their activities, as the objective was to destabilise the polity as well as showcase their gory activities.
