The Borno State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Zanna Umar Mustapha, yesterday in Kaduna accused Information Minister Labaran Maku of misleading Nigerians and the security forces on the fight against terrorism.
Umar Mustapha said at a conference on Security and Human Rights in Northern Nigeria under the Arewa Development Project that Maku may have likely polluted the minds of millions of Nigerians and the security forces by accusing the Borno State government of trivializing the fight against Boko Haram insurgents. He said negligence in understanding the Boko Haram crisis makes it “stubbornly difficult” to make prescriptions.“Maku is the one to educate not just Nigerians but the entire world on what constitutes Boko Haram.
However, the driver happens to be blind. What would make someone really disturbed is that Maku was supervising minister of defence for some time. No one might ever know the extent he might have inflicted his understanding of Boko Haram on security chiefs he worked with”, he said.
