A man in China had unknowingly been living with two wild beasts for two years thinking they were dogs.
Farmer, Wang Kaiyu, was said to have bought two young puppies while in Vietnam in 2013 after he craved for pets.
However he became suspicious after the dogs started behaving strangely.
On one occasion, the animals returned home with a butchered chicken, something a normal pet dog wouldn’t do.
He soon realised his beloved ‘dogs’ were black bears (an endangered species) when he saw a wildlife protection poster put out by local police.
He contacted the local public security bureau and the bears were sent to a rescue centre.
The bears – one male and one female – are in good health and now weigh around 50kg apiece.
