Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal may have confirmed that his reign at Old Trafford has come to an end with a three-syllable phrase on Sunday, SkySports says.

Reports on Saturday emerged after Manchester United lifted the FA Cup that Louis van Gaal will leave the club and Chelsea's former Manager, Jose Mourinho will take over. The club is yet to make a statement to that effect and nothing is in concrete.

However, van Gaal left Manchester United's team hotel in London on Sunday, telling Sky Sports News HQ's reporter "it's over" before being chauffeured off. He didn't specify what he was talking about, though.

According to SkySports, van Gaal's phrase is confirmation that his tenure at Manchester United has ended, with Mourinho's agent Jorge Mendes due to fly into the UK on Tuesday for talks.

United insist, however, Van Gaal's comments on Sunday were referring purely to the season being "over" - not his reign as United boss.
