Cyril Odu joined ACA in March 2012, after over 39 years of a meritorious career in the oil and gas industry.

At Mobil, Cyril was the Vice Chairman of the Board of Mobil Producing Nigeria where he had responsibility for Business Services, and he also the Chief Financial Officer of the Upstream Affiliates of ExxonMobil in Nigeria. In addition to responsibility for Financial Controllers, Treasury and Tax functions, he also had In-Country administrative oversight over Procurement, Information Technology, Real Estate and Facilities Management.

Cyril attended the University of Ibadan and graduated with a degree in Geology and an MBA from the Texas Southern University. He joined Mobil as a geologist in 1972 and served in several Technical and Management positions in Exploration, Production, Joint Interest & Regulatory Affairs, Planning and New Business Development and Human Resources.

He was also actively involved in developing and implementing Exxon Mobil business strategies in Nigeria over the years in addition to implementing several innovative funding and financing solutions for ExxonMobil in Nigeria.

Odu joined the board in 2012 following the $500 million investment in the bank from Union Global Partners Limited, a private equity consortium.

He has been an Independent Director of Oracle Energy Corp. since May 2014. He has been a Non- Executive Director of Union Bank of Nigeria Plc since July 12, 2012 and Seven Energy International Limited since 2014.

Odu was the chairman of the bank’s risk management committee prior to his appointment as chairman.
