Managing Director of Nigerian Communications Satellite (NigComSat) Ltd., Engr. Timasaniyu Ahmed-Rufai, has been directed by the board of directors to proceed on ‘indefinite leave.’
In a statement released by the head of corporate communications, NigComSat, Sonny Aragbe-Akpore, it was revealed that the leave was to ‘pave way for an investigation into the financial status of the company.”
It was further revealed that the development stemmed from the directive of Omobola Johnson, Nigeria’s Honourable Minister for Communications Technology.
In the interim, an acting Managing Director has been named. She is Ms. Abimbola Alale, who before becoming the acting Managing Director was the executive director (Marketing) at NigComSat.
