The communications system on the Malaysian Airlines jet which mysteriously disappeared mid-flight was deliberately disabled, it was revealed on Saturday.
Malaysia’s Prime Minister Najib Razak said communications on the missing airliner were deliberately switched off and the last signal from the plane came more than seven hours after take-off.
That meant it could have ended up anywhere from the southern Indian Ocean to Central Asia, said Mr Razak, although he stopped short of stating explicitly that it had been hijacked.
