Former member of the Presidential Investigative Committee on Arms Procurement, Muhammed Umar, who was indicted for corruption and imprisoned in June, has been released from prison by the DSS.
The retired air commodore, was arrested on the orders of the president after allegations of money laundering and illegal possession of firearms were leveled against him.
He was granted bail by an Abuja Division of the Federal High Court in July, with a bond of N100 million.
However the DSS kept him in prison despite being condemned by the trial judge, Nnamdi Dimgba.
On Thursday when the matter came up in court Mr. Dimgba vowed not to continue until the SSS obeys his bail order.
Umar was subsequently released on Friday.
