Senator Ali Ndume, representing Southern Borno Senatorial District, has declared his support for the splinter group of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
According to him, he took the decision to align with the New PDP as he was being persecuted by the main fold of the party.
Ndume who spoke with newsmen yesterday in Maiduguri, also stated that his closeness with Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima, a member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, was not why he defected to the opposition.
