Metro N13m Worth of Stolen Goods Recovered

A truck loaded with N13m worth of motorcycles has been recovered by the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad, in Lagos State. The truck was said to have been hijacked by armed robbers along the Sagamu-Benin expressway around 5am on the 2nd of August, 2013. The vehicle was headed for Obiaroko, Warri, Delta State when the hijacking occurred.

The owner, Fidelis Onyejugbu, narrated how his property had been suddenly hijacked, according to the driver and the motor-boy, by 6 armed men on their way to Warri.

The truck was traced to Ibadan on the 14th of August, 2013, where a motor-boy was found waiting in the truck. The thieves confessed to be in the process of transporting the truck to Nnewi, Anambra State, where a buyer was waiting.

20 of the 130 motorcycles are missing. Efforts are being made to apprehend the other robbers who are currently at large.
