Three houses belonging to the immediate past governor of Katsina State, Shehu Shema, were on Monday sealed off by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
The three houses are located at Makera Estate, along Daura Road, Barhim Estate and the Government Reserved Area, all in Katsina.
On Monday night, the anti-graft agency pasted an inscription that read, “EFCC. Under Investigation” on the walls of the three palatial buildings.
Details surrounding the seal off were still scanty as of press time.
When contacted, the former governor’s spokesman, Mr. Oluwabusola Olawale, called on the EFCC to be fair in its investigation, maintaining that the former governor acquired his property legitimately.
The EFCC had declared Shema wanted over an alleged N76bn fraud.
