Chief Felica Sani, the President, Market Men and Women Association of Nigeria, has criticised the recent devaluation of the naira effected by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

She told newsmen in Abuja on Friday that devaluation of the naira would lead to inflation, which would adversely affect all Nigerians, especially the poor.

``80 per cent of Nigerians are less privilege, so let us not deceive ourselves; let us reverse now. I have never seen a country that cannot feed itself oh, let us make return and not swim further, we will drown.

``Let us bring back half a penny. Let them not devalue anything oh, poor man will die oh, if we die finish I will see who they will rule.

```We do not have coins, N5, N20 is not in circulation, N50 is not in circulation, even you can hardly see N100.
``There is problem in this country, we are suffering in this country, our money does not have value. Let us not deceive ourselves. We are responsible for our problems.``
Sani explained that in the past a pot of soup could be cooked for just a N100 but that was not the case now.
She pleaded with Nigerians to work for the good of the country and fellow Nigerians and not for their selfish interest.
``Let me tell you honestly, as a mother, as a grandmother, as a great grandmother you can cook soup of N50 , you buy okoro N20 , buy dawadawa N5 , soup is ready oh .
``If you want to make sweet mouth, buy meat N10, cut it small, small, you will eat, if you want to cook soup of N100 you can cook soup of N100.
``Let them bring back the kobo so that with N100 you can go to the market can buy something you will eat with your family,
``Garri was N45 in this town; it went up to N50 to N60 and to N100 naira. garri is now N250; garri that is the ordinary man’s food.
``What caused French revolution? Is it not bread? So they should be very careful and anybody that is advising this government wrongly will pay dearly for it because they are pushing us to the wall. We are going to confront them so that this country will be one.
``Very soon, we will put it on government head; all of us contribute to this country; the president cannot work in isolation, we have all our respective roles to play.
"We should leave this country as a great nation for our children and children yet unborn’’.
