Governor Umaru Al-Makura of Nasarawa State on Wednesday distributed 28 units of Toyota Land Cruiser Sports Utility Vehicles (SUV) to second and third class traditional rulers in the state.
Presenting the vehicles to the monarchs in Lafia, the governor said the gesture would encourage peace building efforts in the state.
He said that similar gesture would soon be extended to all the first class emirs and chiefs in the state, adding that the state government was working with traditional institution to entrench peace in the state.
He attributed the relative peace being enjoyed in the state to the efforts of the royal fathers.
Al-Makura commended the traditional rulers for their efforts towards curbing the incessant crises in border communities and urged people to support government to bring lasting peace in the state.
The governor also distributed 13 units of Toyota Corolla saloon cars to the newly elected local government chairmen in the state.
