The Nasarawa State chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Yunana Illiya, has denied the allegation by the All Progressives Congress, APC, that the presidency and the PDP was behind the impeachment plot against the state governor, Tanko Al-Makura.
Speaking with reporters in Lafia on Thursday, Mr. Illiya said the allegation was laughable, and unfounded.
“It is unfortunate that people are bringing sentiments into (the impeachment issue). What (the lawmakers) have done is their constitutional right, to probe the happenings in the state, and if there are areas where they have discovered irregularities, they have the right to inform the governor of these grey areas and ask him to clear himself,” Mr. Illiya said.
