The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Ikeja Branch, on Friday urged the state government to review the high tuition fees being paid by students of Lagos State University (LASU).

The Chairman of the association, Mr Onyekachi Ubani, made the call at a media briefing ahead of the branch's 2014 Annual Law Week holding from April 25 to May 2.

According to reports, the state government had in 2012 raised fees in the institution from N25, 000 to N198, 000 for students offering arts and social sciences, while medical students are being charged N350, 000 per session.

Ubani said the government should empathise with the parents of the students considering the economic situation in the country.
