Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission says Electricity Distribution Companies must consult consumers before approaching it for ratification of any plan to increase tariff.
In a statement made available to newsmen, Chairman of NERC, Dr. Sam Amadi, said NERC would ensure that electricity customers pay only an efficient tariff.
The NERC boss noted that electricity distribution companies must consult with the consumers before it can approach the commission for tariff review.
Dr Amadi, however, didn’t specify the modalities or steps a DISCO would take in consulting with consumers within their area of jurisdiction.
