According to Leadership newspaper, the fiery statement by Rev. Fr. Mbaka against Nigeria's President Jonathan was echoing the sentiments of the Catholic Church about the President.
The paper's source says the Catholic Community is displeased with the President because of his rapport with the Anglican church, and they selected Fr. Mbaka to be their mouthpiece because of his track record as being pretty vocal .
The Catholic church, says the source, then mandated Fr. Mbaka to prophesy that the re-election of President Jonathan would spell disaster for national integrity.
This is, of course, one angle. Another angle to this story says General Buhari himself sent a powerful delegation to Enugu on December 21st, 2014 to buy Fr. Mbaka over to their side. (read about that here)
