NGO Plans 56 Schools for Nomads

The Education Sector Support Programme in Nigeria (ESSPIN), an NGO in Jigawa, plans to build 56 schools for nomads in Jigawa, Alhaji Ali Manu, the Executive Secretary, Agency for Nomadic Education in Jigawa, said.

Manu made the disclosure on Tuesday in Dutse.

He said the schools would be sited in the 27 local government areas of the state.

He added that "the NGO has selected 56 areas where temporary structures will be used as classrooms.’

The executive secretary said that the temporary structures would gradually be built into permanent ones to provide conducive learning environment to pupils.

The nomadic education boss noted that the NGO also planned to sink boreholes in seven of the schools, saying all necessary building materials had been taken to the sites in preparation for commencement of work.
