Metro Niger Delta Avengers Blow Up Major Crude Oil Line In Bayelsa

The Niger Delta Avengers, on Friday morning said a crude pipeline owned by Italian oil giant, Agip Eni, was destroyed in an overnight explosion.

The group, which claimed responsibility for virtually all major attacks against oil installations across the restive oil-rich region this year, said the incident occurred at about 3:00 a.m.

In a tweet posted on its Twitter page, @NDAvengers, the Avengers wrote: “3:00 a.m. on Friday. Niger Delta Avengers blow (sic) up the Obi Obi Brass trunk line belonging to Agip ENI. It is Agip’s major crude oil line in Bayelsa State.”

No official statement from Agip Nigeria at the time of filling this report.

There is no control. Armed bandits back by selfish politicians (actually maybe we should not call them that as it gives some legitimacy to their role in the development of their constituency). This is not just a Niger Delta issue, but it is simply highlighted because of the oil. We have the herdsmen, we have regional lobby groups from all parts of the country, we have boko haram!! Not so long ago, most of those seated in the national assembly were ALLEGED to have been swearing allegiance at shrines all over Nigeria!
