Niger state Governor, Babangida Aliyu has denied supporting an Aminu Tambuwal and a Rotimi Amaechi presidential ticket. LEADERSHIP has this story.
Niger State governor, Dr Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu has denied promoting speaker of House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal and Rivers State governor, Mr. Chibuike Amaechi as presidential and vice presidential candidates respectively in 2015 election, describing the speculations as the handiwork of his political enemies aimed at misleading Nigerians.
The governor who made his position known in a statement by his chief press secretary, Israel Ayegba Ebije, stated that Amaechi who was fingered to have made the revelation has since denied knowledge of the story and has distanced himself from the online publication.
Aliyu therefore, maintained that the publication which claimed he and Lamido had deceived Amaechi to leave the PDP for the opposition to pursue political ambition as vice president in the next general election is spurious adding that it was aimed at misleading Nigerians.
