Sports Nigeria 0-0 Greece: Another draw that leaves Keshi with much work on his attack

There was nothing to separate the #SuperEagles of Nigeria and Greece after both teams settled for a 0-0 draw in their friendly game played in Philadelphia,USA.

Coming a day after the Nigerian team was pruned down to the final 23-players ,it was a litmus test to see how coach #StephenKeshi is shaping up his team in preparation for the 2014 World Cup tournament.

But there wasn't much to cheer for the Nigerian fan,who would have seen his team play out another stalemate.

#Nigeria had to come from behind to draw their last friendly game against Scotland,at least there were goals in the game but on Tuesday night in USA(early Wednesday morning Nigerian team) against Greece, the goals somewhat dried up.

Greece was more relaxed in the first half and controlled the game, with Nigeria a bit out of sorts.

Emmanuel Emenike looked a bit isolated in attack with Osaze Odemwingie and Ahmed Musa not equalling complementing him, though they were occupied with midfield duties.

The finishing would give Keshi something to worry about as Nigeria looked everything but "thin" in attack.

Worrying for Nigeria,Elderson Echiejile was substituted in the game after he went down injured. More worrisome is the fact that Efe Ambrose was moved to the left-back position to fill in for him, maybe Keshi didn't have much faith in Juwon Oshaniwan.

The Nigerian team improved in the second half of the game,a much better side than they were in the first 45 minutes, coming close on a couple of occasions.

If there was anything that went motoring for Nigeria,it was the effort of #VictorMoses down the left flank in the second half of the game.

The Chelsea forward had a good chance after a delightful interchange of passes with #Emenike at the edge of the box,but his effort sailed off from goal.

It was reminiscent of the Moses that was breathtaking for Nigeria last year, and he came close to winning a penalty when a Greek defender struck out an arm on him in the penalty area.

However Greece looked threatening on the break when Nigeria was on the back foot but they weren't lethal enough.

From a quick throw-in,Kone curled a very good shot in the box for Greece but the bend was enough to beat Enyeama in goal.

Greece in a bid to improve in attack threw on Georgios Samaras,Konstantinos Mitroglou and Dimitris Salpingidis. It was that partnership who almost hurt Nigeria in the end.

The Fulham striker held up play and backheeled a pass to Samaras whose shot was saved by Enyeama,Salpingidis followed up the rebound with a header but there was no beating the Nigerian keeper who made the ball his.

Nigeria did have a chance to steal the game close to the end, with Ogenyi Onazi belting a bullet but the Greek goalkeeper replicated the feat of #Enyeama and punched out the shot.

The game ended goalless, third successive draw in a row for the Nigerian team, however the Super Eagles will be delighted with the impressive showing of their defence who didn't concede a goal.

Nigeria's next game will be against the United States in Jackonsville, which will definitely set the tone for the team going into the World Cup.
