Five former Heads of State, yesterday shunned the festivities held at the forecourt of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
According to DAILY TRUST, the five heads of state are Muhammadu Buhari, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, Olusegun Obasanjo, Alhaji Shehu Shagari and Abdulsalami Abubakar.
The Independence anniversary celebration was held in the state house, as has become the norm since the bomb blast that rocked the 2010 independence anniversary held at the Eagle Square in Abuja.
The only former Head of State who attended the Independence anniversary are Yakubu Gowon.
