According to the latest report published by the Nigerian Communications Commission, Airtel Nigeria is the fastest growing mobile operator in the country.
Airtel has the highest number of new customers in the last quarter of 2014, clinching 32 per cent of total new customers between October and December 2014.
The Nigerian telecoms industry recorded almost five million new customers in the last quarter (October to December 2014). MTN, Etisalat and Globacom had 1,434,119, 1,222,363 and 607,736 new customers respectively, while Airtel recorded 1,502,293 new customers, the highest from the pool in the period.
In percentage terms, while Airtel finished the last quarter as the fastest growing mobile operator in Nigeria with 32 per cent of new customers market share, MTN, Etisalat and Globacom closed the quarter with 30 per cent, 26 per cent and 13 per cent respectively.
