Business Nigeria, China Trade Volume Hits N2.9Trn

The Chinese ambassador to Nigeria, Xiaojie Gu has said that the trade volume between Nigeria and China recently hit N2.9 trillion.

This was revealed during a courtesy visit to the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu in Abuja.

According to the envoy, the latest trade volume was recorded as at the end of 2015.

Ambassador Gu, who described Nigeria as China’s third biggest trading partner in Africa, said that Nigeria is the second biggest market in terms of export in Africa.

He explained that Nigeria and China have been working assiduously to implement infrastructural projects in the country, particularly in the airport terminals.

He also noted that Chinese companies had been executing the extension of four airport terminals in Nigeria, saying that Chinese government had approached China Exim Bank for the provision of infrastructural and concessionary loans to Nigeria.
