In a country with more than four million smartphone users, a significant amount of which comprises Android phones, the heartbleed virus isn't something that people should be ignorant of.

Last week, a warning went out for users to change the password on all devices as this made them better protected against the bug, but most people still don't know what this bug is and why they are in danger.

Millions of Android smartphone and tablet users could still be vulnerable to the Heartbleed bug, which can be exploited by hackers to steal passwords, credit card details, encryption keys and other sensitive data from web servers, without leaving any trace.

Heartbleed is thought to be one of the most serious security flaws ever found, partly because it remained undiscovered for more than two years. Experts estimate that around two-thirds of the world's web servers run the software that contains the bug, known as OpenSSL, meaning they are vulnerable to attack until a security patch is installed.
