The Nigerian Naira currently is the worst performing currency in Africa, data from Bloomberg says.
The Naira depreciated the most against the dollar out of the 23 African currencies monitored by Bloomberg. The currency has depreciated by 30% since mid-June. The Sierra Leonean Leone follows, having shed 29.16% of its value during the period.
The best performing African currency in the period, is the Zambian Kwacha, which gained 12.12 percent. The South Africa rand gained 5.03 percent to come second, followed by the Botswana pula with a 1.4 percent gain.
