Nigeria - The All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, has accused the Peoples' Democratic Party of bribing voters at his polling unit yesterday, Punch reports.
According to him, President Goodluck Jonathan was able to get 71 votes at his (Ambode’s) polling unit at Ward A5, polling unit 03, Epe, because members of the Peoples Democratic Party distributed cash.
He, however, expressed pleasure in the fact that the APC presidential candidate, Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd), got 97 votes.
However PDP Lagos Chairman, Capt. Tunji Shelle, said Ambode was making a baseless accusation because he was afraid of losing the April 11 governorship election.
