Sports Nigerian League: Referees ends strike

Action will resume this weekend in the Nigeria Professional Football League after the Nigeria Referees Association(NFF) agreed to call off their strike.

The referees two weeks ago went on strike, protesting the incessant crises that engulfed the Nigeria Football Federation(NFF)

Players equally joined the referees in enforcing their own strike when the crisis at the NFF was at headlong, with some factions laying claims to the leadership of the federation.

But with normalcy having been restored at the NFF,the referees agreed to stop their demonstration and get back to work.

The referees body in a letter to the NFF on Wednesday, stated that referees were “ready to officiate all matches organised by the Nigeria Football Federation with immediate effect”.

Vice-President of the NRA Tade Azeez told SL10.ng, “We have written to the League Management Company stating that we now trust the current situation in the Nigeria Football Federation so I can confirm to you that League football will resume this weekend.”
