The Nigerian Navy Task Force has arrested five Republic of Benin nationals who allegedly specialise in conveying petroleum products from vandalized pipelines to their country.
Their boat was intercepted with the five suspects on board during a routine patrol by personnel of NNS Becroft.
The suspects, identified as Agbotou Firmin, Sohe Soule, Gbenou Daniel Dosspu Vigor and Sodohe Oliver were arrested along the creek at Tongeji in Ogun State, by the naval operatives who were on patrol of the area.
The Commander, NNS Beecroft, Apapa, Commodore Abraham Adaji who paraded the suspects yesterday, said about 500 plastic jerry cans filled with petrol and a wooden canoe were recovered from the suspects.
