The passage of Nigeria's 2015 budget is in doubt momentarily as Senators have disagreed over the time the bill will be passed, according to Punch.
While Senator Kabiru Marafa (APC, Zamfara North) expressed the hope that the National Assembly would pass the budget before the general elections, his counterpart in Lagos West, Ganiyu Solomon, said the passage of the bill might have to wait till April.
Nigeria's finance minister, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, had presented the bill to the senate on December 16, 2014- after which the house adjourned for the christmas and new year holidays.
The senate is to resume plenary on Jan 13, after which it'll go for a recess in order to prepare for the 2015 elections, the Senate’s Deputy Minority Leader said.
