Metro Nigerian troops discover Boko Haram armoury near Lake Chad - Daily Independent

Nigerian troops prosecuting the Boko Haram insurgency in the north east of the country said it has captured an armoury belonging to the sect.

Daily Independent gathered that the armoury with many arms and ammunitions were kept was captured by troops around Lake Chad on Friday.
Director, Defence Information, Major General Chris Olukolade, told our correspondent on Saturday that an analysis of the calibre of the weapons was still being carried out at the time of filing this report.
However, it was learnt that multiple explosions, sporadic gunshots hit Maiduguri at the early hours of Saturday.
This is despite the 24-hour curfew imposed on Maiduguri and it’s environs following the deadly clash between Boko Haram terrorists and the military who foiled a daring attack on Giwa Barracks, Friday.
