There are unconfirmed reports that the federal government has mandated telecoms firms to increase prices of their internet data subscription packages starting December 1 2016.
It's believed that the Nigeria Communications Commission, NCC, ordered Etisalat, MTN, Airtel and Glo to start using a fixed minimum pricing template.
Reports say the regular N1,000 for 1.5GB might be reduced to N1,000 for 1GB or less.
The development is reportedly to help government generate more revenue.
