From the BBC: An African whistle-blowing website (after Wikileaks) has been launched with the aim of exposing politicians and businessmen who misuse power in Africa.

19 newspapers are involved in this project.

The website will give people an avenue for leaking sensitive information anonymously.

Some of the newspapers for this project include: include South Africa's Mail & Guardian, Kenya's Daily Nation and Nigeria's Premium Times.

According to the founders, Afrileaks: "is an attempt to boost investigative journalism to expose widespread corruption and human rights abuses."
