The NJC query which was dated July 28,2015 and with reference number NJC/NJC/S.29/HC.OS/16/1/55, issued against Justice Oloyede was in response to the accusations Mrs. Emily Richard-Obire who accused the judge of snatching her (Richard-Obire's) husband. According to Mrs Richard-Obire, in her petition dated July 13, 2015, she had only discovered recently that the judge had been having an affair to the detriment of her (Richard-Obire's) matrimonial home since 2011.

The query directed to Justice Oloyede was personally signed by the Chief Justice of Nigeria and Chairman of the NJC, Justice Mahmud Mohammed. He directed the accused Justice to respond to the query within 14 days of receiving it. The copy of the query which was obtained by Punch correspondent was issued to the judge through the Osun State Chief Judge, Justice O. A Ojo.

The query was entitled, ‘Re: Petition against Justice Olamide Oloyede of the Osun State Judiciary’ and reads thus, “I forward herewith a petition dated July 13, 2015 against you by one Mrs. Emily Richard-Obire on the above subject matter. The petition speaks for itself.

“I shall be glad to have your comments within 14 days from the date of your receipt of this letter.”

It could not be ascertained yet if Justice Oloyede had responded to the query.

What right do they have to query her on a personal issue?
This is not a personal issue. She is a Judge in Nigeria and she's co-habiting with a man who is married under law, without the latter divorcing his wife. That is a crime and most immoral for a justice of law.

I beg to differ. It's a personal issue. The only reason it made the news is her petition against Rauf Aregbesola
