The NNPC in 2015 lost 83.09 billion naira from operating its three refineries combined, the latest Monthly Financial and Operation Report of the firm reveals.
NPCC's refineries are The Kaduna Refinery and Petrochemical Company (KRPC), Warri Refinery and Petrochemical Company (WRPC), and Port Harcourt Refining Company.
The firm also lost N18.8m from its Cooperate Service Unit and N267bn in total for 2015.
The company's loss, however, should not be fully attributed to the fall in crude oil prices. Other factors, including widespread corruption, is also believed to contributes to the deficit.
