Strong indications have emerged that northern delegates at the on-going National Conference, under the auspices of Northern Delegates Forum, NDF, have again rejected President Goodluck Jonathan’s fresh lobby over six-year single term tenure in office.
National Mirror gathered that the Presidency had planned to lobby delegates for the adoption of the controversial tenure advanced by the president, with stiff resistance from the northern participants, months before the commencement of the conference.
Apart from the lobby, intense pressure was said to have been mounted on delegates for the inclusion of the presidency’s proposal of single term.
