UMUAHIA—THE SOUTH EAST zone of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE, has lashed out at the delegates to the ongoing National Conference for recommending the scrapping of local government system .
According to the union, the decision will not only drag the country to a dark era but also work against the poor.
Rising from a zonal meeting in Umuahia, the union expressed concerns that delegates to the Confab were trying to upturn the decision of Nigerians who voted for the autonomy of local government councils.
In a 4-point communiqué signed by the National Vice President, Comrade Eze Idima and 10 other officers, NULGE, South East zone condemned in its entirety the recommendation by the Confab to scrap the local government system.
