Imo State governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, yesterday demolished the age-long state library in spite of warnings by the state National Labour Congress (NLC) and other bodies which had kicked against the governor’s proposal when the idea was originally muted.
Angry residents of the state watched the library, adjacent to the Government House in Owerri, as it was reduced to rubbles with a bulldozer.
LEDERSHIP gathered that the relocation of the state library to another site at the New Owerri has attracted criticisms from citizens of the state considering the distance and its obscure environment.
