Militants suspected to be thugs have prevented officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from holding elections in Arogbo Ward II of Ondo State.
Sources told SaharaReporters that the militants were armed with pistols and refused the INEC ad-hoc staff into the polling unit.
Many voters who had arrived for accreditation were said to have been stranded, but hoped that the election might commence early.
A source who spoke to SaharaReporters revealed that the people of the area were making use of militants to protest the lack of government projects in the area.
