Tussle of candidate of Ondo state Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the forthcoming governorship elections in the state has taken a new twist as supporters of Eyitayo Jegede who belong to the Makarfi-led faction, Monday, alleged that thugs and police detail on convoy of Jimoh Ibrahim opened fire on them at the Eyitayo’s campaign office in Akure, the state’s capital.
PDP Chieftain, Kunle Ijalana who was an eyewitness said: “Jimoh Ibrahim and his over 30 vehicles’ convoy stopped at the campaign office, shooting sporadically direct at the building, while occupants and passer-by scamper for safety in a shooting that lasted for over 10minutes.”
The PDP chieftain told newsmen that though the number of those who sustained various degrees of injuries could not be immediately ascertained but that over 10 persons had been seen with injuries.
