The Ondo State House of Assembly on Tuesday, November 22 called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to extend the November 26 governorship election as a matter of urgent public importance.
It was gathered that the assembly presided over by the Deputy Speaker, Fatai Olotu, unanimously voted in favour of the extension of the election date.
Mr. Olotu said the extension would not have any adverse effect or offend any electoral law.
A similar call by a faction of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was rejected by INEC which said it could not postpone the election because of an intra-party squabble.
