Ondo- According to a statement released by Dr. Rotimi Adeola, the Secretary to the Ondo state government on Tuesday in Akure, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Mr Samuel Adesina, is dead.
Adesina who represented Odigbo Constituency II in the House died in the early hours of Tuesday after a protracted battle with cancer of the urinary bladder.
The statement described the late Speaker as a bridge builder, a man of integrity and a reliable team player who placed the interest of the state above personal considerations.
"The Ondo State Government received the news with rude shock and disbelief.
"We commiserate with the family of the late Speaker, the state legislature and the entire people of the state over this irreparable loss.
"It is our prayers that God will grant every one of us the fortitude to bear this loss,’’ the statement quoted the SSG as saying.
