The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has called on the public and private sectors to preserve the Yoruba language and culture.
Ogunwusi, who spoke in his palace recently while unveiling the logo of the Yoruba Cultural Carnival Worldwide, said language and culture remained catalysts for development.
The monarch said, “We must make a conscious attempt to preserve and sustain our language and culture. No doubt, the Yoruba language and culture are rich, but we must tap into the potential inherent in them.”
